Is your Chiropractic Website Marketing a Joke?

Thursday, December 18th, 2008
by Matthew Loop DC

If you’re like most other chiropractors, you probably have a website online that you were told was going to draw thousands of new customers, but those claims have proven to be empty. Perhaps some webmaster enticed you with claims of past successes, but you still see no new patients walking through your doors. This is the reality of chiropractic marketing today. You’re spending tons of money and seeing little results. This is horrible news in these harsh economic times.

This is absolutely a lie that many website creators keep from you so you will continued to host your website at their many times expensive service. Just because you have a professional, expensive and aesthetically appealing website doesn’t automatically mean it will make you a boatload of money.

When you dive into the world of internet marketing and Web 2.0, you’re diving into the chiropractor’s goldmine. If you refuse to tap into this new and powerful form of marketing, you’ll most likely be left in the dust, which is exactly where most of the other chiropractors are today. It seems like the options are endless online. With all the different strategies including Pay-Per-Click, Banner Ads, email marketing, and social media marketing, the question becomes: How do you decide?

First realize that if you’re spending a lot of money on marketing for your chiropractic practice, you are totally throwing that money away. If someone is charging you an arm and a leg to advertise your practice, there is no question that their marketing methods are a thing of the past and have no legs in the modern world. Don’t get stuck in this trap like everyone else! Social media marketing online is the wave of the future, and it costs you nothing at all. When you join a site like YouTube, Facebook, or Friendster, you’re taking the firsts steps to bring your chiropractic practice back to life.

It’s imperative to have a mentor that can show you how to drive hundreds or thousands of highly-targeted visitors and traffic to your website daily. If you go at it alone, you risk wasting thousands of dollars on paid or ineffective advertising for mediocre results.

Using video on YouTube to market yourself and your chiropractic practice is one of the initial powerhouse methods of marketing. When you target the right demographic in your community, you can see many new patients every month passing through your doors, while creating multiple streams of income from other locations online.

I have videos that have garnered thousands and thousands of views on only a few months. Do you have any idea what exposure like this would cost on Pay-Per-Click advertising engines? You got it, a truckload of cash! Videos even get indexed very well by Google if you know how to optimize them so climbing to the top of the search engine can be relatively simple and very cheap.

Be cautious and skeptical if a chiropractic website creator tells you that by just having a website, you will get tons of new patients and sales. You could have the best website in the world, but if no one knows about it, then it doesn’t matter. If you are looking for mass exposure to your local, national or international community, then marketing via high-traffic social media sites is the perfect way to go and will be very lucrative for your practice.

Traffic School 101: 3 Proven Ways to Get Traffic To Your Site

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008
by Theo McLanahan

What good is a website if no one sees it? So it is imperative to encourage browsers to visit and revisit your site. There are tried to true methods for accomplishing just that. Below are a few.

To increase traffic to your website you have to let people know you’re out there. You have to put your information in front of them. Blogs are a good way to do jus that. On your blog you want to be expressive about what valuable information will be found on your website. Inform your readers of any new information or articles you have posted on your site by including a feed burner. You want to whet their appetite for what they will see and learn when they visit your site.

Post links for other websites that might interest your readers. Ask the owner of the websites you post to do the same for you. Remember to network with website owners who offer products and services that will interest your readers so that you get the most benefit. By working along with other website owners you greatly increase the number of viewers that gain knowledge of your site.

If your website is focused on diet and exercise you want to include links to website that have related products and services. Posting a link to a website about model trucks and cars will hardly draw in viewers to your site.

Article reprint directories are another advertising tool. Several directories are available and it is to your benefit to send articles to all that you can. This is not a difficult process at all. Simply write articles and circulate them to various directories.

This can be done manually, or you can invest in software that can do this for you. Another option is to hire a virtual assistant to submit them for you.

The reprint directories allow other website owners to select and post articles from the directory free of charge. This gets your information circulated to a wide range of readers. Also, the article will conclude with your contact and website information and direct readers to your website.

You choose what the bio box says and can include links to your site. The articles can be any length you choose and can be on any topic. If you don’t like writing, you can hire a ghostwriter to write the articles for you.

Beware of Chiropractic Website Marketing Promises

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

If you currently have a chiropractic website and it’s not producing new patients or sales from information products that you have, you are not alone. In fact 90% of chiropractors that have websites, don’t know the first thing about driving massive amounts of visitors (traffic) to them to get new patients. Typically they are promised by their webmaster that after the site is created, the flood-gates will open and they will begin to get noticed by people in the community.

Webmasters give you false claims about your potential success online because they want to keep charging you an arm and a leg for their services. No matter how professional, appealing, and pricey your website is, it isn’t worth its weight in salt if no one knows it’s there and comes to visit it. Your website could be a money pit.

If you’re a chiropractor that is seeking new patients and other forms of income, then you need to understand about internet marketing in today’s world. Marketing is what will bring people to your chiropractic website and to your office. Now, there are several types of marketing online from Pay-Per-Click, Banner Ads, email marketing, and social media marketing. Which one should you choose?

Video marketing on YouTube and other websites like it provide you a simple, free medium to propagate your message to your community so that boatloads of people will continuously see you. The best part is, these videos work for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week absolutely free!

After only a few short months, some of my videos were seen by literally thousands of people. If this were a Pay-Per-Click engine, can you even imagine how much that would have cost? That’s a huge amount of money! You can get some phenomenal indexing for your video on Google if you know the tricks of the trade. Soon you’ll find yourself at the top of the search engine, for a price that’s cheaper than you ever imagined.

Don’t ever trust a chiropractic webmaster who says that you’ll magically drive a wealth of new business to your site naturally once it’s started. This is simply not true! Even if you have the most beautiful, expensive website in the world, no one will see it if they don’t know that it’s there! Marketing on these social media sites online is the perfect and cheap way to drive thousands of people to your website daily; even while you sleep. So what are you waiting for?

SEO is about to Grow Up

Monday, December 15th, 2008
by Jennifer O.

Those who have been in the industry since the late 90’s have seen huge changes in SEO. The industry has really matured. But in the grand scheme of things, if you were to plot SEO on a product life cycle chart you would see that the industry is still in its’ infancy. SEO - Introduction Stage - Starting about 1998

Companies who were around in the introduction stage often had to build product awareness and develop a market for SEO. In the early ‘2000’s, many of our clients had just build their first websites. This was a significant investment for them and they thought that now that they have a website, the online sales would just flow in. Many didn’t realize that they had just invested serious coin into an over-priced business card. Because nobody could find them.

At this point, there was little consistency in the product. And as the algorithm got more complex, the SEO offering varied more. Some companies were offering to “submit to hundreds of search engines” (some still are) whilst others were offering usability, analytics and site architectural input in addition to on-page and off-page SEO.

SEO - Early Growth Stage - we’re still just at the beginning of it.

In the early growth stage, smart SEO companies are beginning to think about building their brand and to increase market share. Demand is increasing as more customers understand the benefits of “getting found”. There is some competition at this stage but because the market is broadening so much, competition is limited and there is still a huge amount of camaraderie within the industry. 10 years into it, it?s easy to assume that our industry is more mature than it actually is. We’ve only just begun.

Customer Implication

Demand has already started to increase but it is going to skyrocket. And it’s going to come from all types of business from very small customers to Enterprise type of businesses.

Up until recently, the neighborhood dry cleaner didn’t care if someone across the country found their website because they deal within a 5 km radius got very little benefit from optimizing their website. Now as local search gets much better, those local business will become much more serious about the opportunities online

It is also likely that we’ll see a lot of growth from Enterprise clients. These clients previously resisted SEO due to the complexity of working within legacy back-end systems. As technology increases and back-end systems become less expensive for more capability, we’re going to see companies replace their antiquated CMS’s with Search Engine Optimization friendly options.

Another change that this stage of the product life cycle will bring is in our relationship with the client. As SEO becomes a bigger part of the mainstream marketing mix, our customers will become more and more knowledgeable about SEO (we?re already starting to see this).

We’ll move from having a sales / consultative role to being a thought partner. Our clients will have a good understanding of what needs to be done but they’ll outsource it to us because we’re more efficient at implementing.

Competition Implication

With high growth in revenues, low barriers to entry, and no certification required, the SEO industry is prime for attracting any and all new entrants. There have always been new competitors. But the face of our competition is going to change greatly. Up until now competition has focused primarily on small start ups and web design firms who decide to add a search component. Some stick around but many are wiped out with the next major shift in the algorithm. This phase of the SEO life cycle is going to attract better capitalized, stronger competition from many sectors. These new entrants are attracted to SEO by the potential for profits not by the fit with their offering.

We are already starting to see traditional media firms seek to protect their eroding revenues by grabbing a slice of the online pie. But WalMart has shown us that future competition could be anyone. And it will be.

No all new entrants are attracted by dollar signs. There are also companies that are feeling increased pressure to offer a more well rounded package. As the integration of offline and online marketing services increases, customers are putting more pressure on agencies to handle the full scope of their marketing spend including the online component.

Although we’re already starting to see increased competition, many existing SEO companies aren’t feeling the pinch yet because demand is also increasing. One implication of increased demand coupled with new entrants to the market is the impact on supply. We’re starting to experience a shortage of experienced SEO talent SEO talent is a scarce resources. And this scared resource is not yet being renewed at a fast enough pace. Whilst some colleges are starting to offer digital media / internet marketing diploma, these grads know very little about what it takes to optimize a website.

Moreover, what they do know is limited to theory. It?s one thing to know that links are important to ranking. Its an entirely different thing to know how to effectively build links. So what?

Who cares where we are in the product life cycle?

Although we’ve already experienced a lot of growth, this growth is nothing compared to what we?re about to experience. In this next stage of the SEO life cycle, we?re going to see shifts in our clients, competition and product offering. Knowing that this is coming, will allow you to prepare. If we know that face of our competition is going to change from other small to mid sized SEO’s to large Agencies and Enterprise size companies in totally unrelated industries then we can prepare for this by determining how we’re going to differentiate ourselves from the new entrants.

And if we know that there is going to be increased pressure on skilled resources then we should be developing in house training programs now. The future is now. And it’s only just begun.

Searching for something on the internet, is very easy to do so nowadays, with powerfull new search engines, like duoseek.com. You can find almost anything about anything these days. Just enter what it is you are searching for, hit go, and a world of information is opened to you.

You can search for anything you can imagine, from the latest film releases, to the cheapest place to buy shoes for example. Search engines have they’re own way of finding results. It is all based around search algorithms, and of course each search engine also has they’re own set of rules surrounding this. So how does a search engine find what it is your looking for? They search for information containing your keyword, and this keyword could be in the title of the webpage, or in the first few lines of the actual webpage.

There may be a million web pages available which have the particular keyword, but it may not contain the desired information. Some pages are more relevant and popular than others. The search engines like duoseek.com employ various methods to rank the pages and to give the refiner result to the user. How the search engine decides that which is the best informative page, and what the order of the result in which it is presented is decided uniquely by each search engine.

These methods also change over a period of time as new technologies evolve and the usage of the internet changes. www.duoseek.com is supported by Google adsense which provides revenue to the site by advertisement. The advertisers have to pay some amount to get their site listed in the higher pages that is having a good page rank. To Do Article Marketing or Not To Do Article Marketing

Sunday, December 14th, 2008
by Brent Sweet

If you can learn the tricks, there are rewards for using article marketing. If you have heard anything lately about SEO in the recent past you would have heard something about increasing your ranking with article marketing. Particularly in Google. I use article marketing to promote every website I own. When I get traffic, I earn money. Good search engine rankings are free traffic. I also get some articles to bring traffic to my website. I think article marketing is well worth the time, if you want to promote your business, get writing.

If you have no idea where to start writing articles for marketing, there are several ebooks on the market to help you. Some are free, or you can buy and resell them. That is a place to start. I don’t really write articles to sell products. I write articles to inform, or give my opinion, then I post them where I can. I use a resource box to get links back to my websites. I like to contribute to peoples content, and I am rewarded for it.

Article marketing can work to draw traffic to your website. Many people out there though are sending a lot of articles out a day so that really reduces the number of visitors you will draw from each article. If you write a really good persuasive or informative article, it is possible more people will use it for content which may bring you more traffic. I think it is a lot of fun to sit down and write, and publish this stuff on the internet. I wouldn’t recommend counting solely on article traffic to make money. If you are promoting affiliate links through articles, you might as well give up. The time spent does not pay off. Get a website and really promote it, or just work a day job.

In my experience I have been rewarded by doing article marketing. I recommend it to anybody who wants to try it. The key is to find a good method to submit your articles, and write as many unique articles as you can. Be an expert in your field, and live with passion.

Business Owner with a Website Should Consider Search Placement

The worst thing that you could do is to wait until your business is in trouble to think about finding a search engine placement service to work on search engine optimization. Before you become this struggling business owner, you are going to want to learn about the value of search engine placement services. This is true especially if you don’t know exactly how valuable these services are and how they can help your business out of tough times.

One of the biggest ways search engine placement services is going to help you is to get people aware of you business. The more people who know about your company, the more business you are going to have. No one said this was going to be easy, and this is often the most difficult step. However, a search engine placement service is going to help you to get people clicking on your site and get it to the top of the search engine results page.

If you are on the third or fourth (or the 30th or 40th) result page for your keywords, you are probably not going to have that many people clicking on your link. It’s really important to be on the first page for your keywords, and if you are not, you definitely need search engine placement services. If you are still struggling to get people to come to your website, a good company is going to be worth the weight in gold.

The third thing a search engine placement service can do for you is to work on your website. By looking at your website and fixing all of the mistakes that are bringing you down in the rankings, you are going to see the benefits for a long time to come. Sure, some search engine optimization techniques take a long time to see any difference, but once the changes start to gain momentum, it’s hard to stop them.

Knowing when you have found the right search engine placement services for your business is going to be hard to do. It is going to be even harder to do if you don’t know what SEO is and how it can help your business. Once you know a bit about search engine optimization and what it can do, you are going to find out whether or not you are getting good search engine placement services. When shopping around, ask what they are going to be able to do for your company. The best company is going to be able to tell you the truth to this answer. They will also not promise you things that you know they won’t be able to keep. Another good thing to do is to go to the company’s office and talk to them in person, which will give you a better feeling of whether they are legit and get all of your questions answered before it is too late.

You don’t want to be someone who doesn’t realize just how important search engine placement services are. Take the initiative and don’t wait until it is too late to get these services. By getting your website just right, you are going to achieve your goal of a profitable business.

Should my Domain Contain My Keywords?

Saturday, December 13th, 2008
by Brent Sweet

This depends on where you are at right now in the timeline of starting your business. If you are going to start a business and have yet to register a domain name, then I would say go ahead and register a domain name with the keywords you want in it. If you have multiple keywords then separate them with a hyphen. Also keep this simple, and make sure people can remember it. A site like http://www.this-is-my-main-keyword-and-here-is-another.com is probably not a good idea. The reason I say that it is a good idea is because when people link to you naturally, it is possible they will use your domain as the anchor text of the link. By having your keywords separated by hyphens in your domain, you assure yourself that any natural link you get will have the keywords that you want in the anchor text.

Hotels.com is a good example. They rank #1 for the keyword hotels, probably because most links pointing to them have the anchor text hotels.com or something similar. This guarantees your anchor text in any links contain the keywords you are shooting for.

If you have already registered your domain, however, please don’t feel that it is useless. It may be a bit harder, but you just need people to link to you with the appropriate anchor text. You are not guaranteed that you will receive the anchor text, like you would with the domain. The fact of the matter is, however, that having the keywords in your domain is really not a factor when you are attempting to get ranked on Google or other search engines.

This has been proven by my newest site http://www.article-submission-express.com. So far every link that I have received has the anchor text article submissions. At the time of writing this article I rank on page 11 for article submission, but I am not ranked at all for article submission which is in my domain. Since I only focus on one keyword at a time, even against the advice of my guru friends, I will not be ranked for the keywords in my domain for some time. I like to follow the principles of the human mind, since the goal of search engines is to be as human as possible. Humans can focus on only one thing at a time, therefore my optimization efforts also focus on one thing at a time. I feel that this concentration of my focus will allow me to eventually rank for every major keyword I want, and allow me to monitor each individual one. Thus assuring that ranking for one doesn’t hurt my rankings for other keywords.

So to conclude my article, if you already registered your domain, that is fantastic. Leave that domain exacly as is. Do not go out and get another domain because your domain doesn’t have keywords in it. If you do this you could even get your site penalized if Google sees the same content on the two domains. They have duplicate content filters, which is why my article submission methods are so effective. Just stick to that domain and do things like article submission to a bunch of directories with your keywords in the anchor text. These are all one way links that will only help you, and you set the anchor text.

The Site Rush Review - Website Flipping, The Next Gold Rush?

Friday, December 12th, 2008
by Lilia Wiemann

If you take even the slightest interest in online marketing, you must have heard about “Affiliate Payload” and “4 Tier Annihilation Method”. These are recent products by well know marketing duo Alex Goad and Saj P. Now they have a new project that will soon be released, which is called The Site Rush.

In The Site Rush they are going to reveal all the ins and outs of the most lucrative kind of business you can have online: Website Flipping. This is basically the buying and selling of websites. The authors call it “virtual real estate”.

The big question of course is: Can you make a nice profit in this business? What are the angles? Let’s have a look.

First of all, if you look on the web, you soon notice that a lot of websites are very badly made. The idea behind them might be nice, but the execution is just not cutting it.

Then we have a lot of pretty good, nice little websites that look and feel good, but they are not making any money (or very little). Someone “forgot” to turn a good website into a money making machine.

And finally we have the websites that are good, and that could make a nice profit, but nobody has ever heard about them. Why not? Because they don’t rank well in the search engines, or they don’t generate the amount of “buzz” they need.

OK, so what can we do with this knowledge? Well, there is something very obvious that’s really easy to forget at the same time: The internet is still very young! It’s already very much integrated into our modern day lives, so we tend to forget it.

If you take the search engine market as an example, there you have one where the battle is pretty much fought. No player can expect to knock Google of their number one spot anywhere in the near future. But most other markets are wide open for anyone to enter! If you can find a site that’s badly made, monetized or SEO’d, you could buy it and make it work for you!

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I, for one, would not get into the site flipping business at this moment. I just don’t feel I have the proper skills to do it.

However, Saj P. and Alex Goad are VERY internet savvy people, and they claim to have developed a system that makes it possible for “the ordinary guy” (or gal) to have their website flipping business. They offer a blueprint with details on all the steps you have to take to be successful in this field.

I am still not quite sure if I will buy into this. I do think I will take a very good look at their product though, because I am just way to curious about it :) And the offer could be a bit more interesting even, because there are so many websites promoting it, that offer their own The Site Rush Bonus if you get the product through their link.

UK Companies: The One Big Theory To Number 1 Placement

Friday, December 12th, 2008
by Mary R Stewart

Designing and building a UK website can be a thankless task. You spend hours of your time planning, designing and creating the whole site, carefully assembling it into a work of digital art. Having lovingly pored over every word and put heart and soul into a decent navigation system and a well thought out layout, you eagerly publish your site and hold your breath for the torrent of visitors. It is somewhat disappointing, therefore, to find that days can go by without a single hit. You know that it can take a while for the search engines to identify and crawl your site, but as the days crawl by it can become very disheartening.

After some time you will, almost certainly, start to welcome a few visitors to your site, and maybe a few of them will spend their hard earned money there as well. But you’ll probably find that you get terribly excited if you have a few visitors, and a little dejected when you start to work out how much the current rate of visitors will earn you, and dreams of the Mediterranean cruise next month might have to be put on hold. If this sounds familiar, ask yourself what you have actually done to ensure that your site does become a success? Other than a slick design, nice graphics and a catchy address, what practical measures have you employed to ensure success?

Perhaps you have come across websites that talk about how to make sure your website is search engine optmized, especially for the UK, so that it is more easily found. This mainly reflects on the way in which search engines find you and list your site in their search results. Bearing in mind how many millions of searches are carried out every day on the internet, making sure that the major search engines know your site exists, and list it, will be of huge benefit. However, being listed is one thing, being high up on those lists is quite another.

The rank of your site refers to how far up the list of results your website is when someone searches the internet. If your website sells left handed calculators for example, then you will expect and hope that if someone enters the keywords ‘left handed calculator’ in a search engine that your website is near the top. If it is at the top, that is fantastic, but you really need to be in the top ten, on that first page, to be a success. Unbelievably, only 3% of people who search online ever look past the first page of results that a search engine brings up. That means that if they search for ‘left handed calculators’, which brings up almost 400,000 results in Google, you need your website to be high up the first page to stand any chance of someone finding it. Even being in 11th place out of those 400,000 will mean that you’re missing out on 97% of visitors.

So what is it that helps you get to the top of your keyword search rank? Is there a single big secret that many SEO companies are aware of, and will only tell you for a huge fee? Certainly many companies do seem to suggest that they alone have the answer, and that only by going through them will the Golden Secret be revealed to you, and suddenly your site will rocket to the top. In fact, there are three things wrong with this. Firstly, there is no single solution - it’s a combination of many varied factors. Secondly, no one single company can ever offer guarantees, promises or assurances that your site will be at the top, or near the top - they can try, and almost certainly your site will rise, but this depends on other factors beyond anyone’s control. This might, for example, be because your website is in a mass market, such as insurance. With hundreds of thousands of keyword competitors, getting near the top is a huge endeavour, whereas if you’re selling rainbow coloured light bulbs then there is likely to be much less competition, and so more chance you’ll rise more quickly, and further. The third thing is that any rise is never going to be overnight, and any progress can take weeks, if not months or even years.

Be very wary of those sites that suggest that the best way of getting your site noticed is to use keywords. Although this is certainly true, search engines now take the number of keywords as only a minor factor in judging a site’s rank. Search engines got wise to the fact that many website owners were simply cramming great blocks of keywords into the code of a page just to get attention. They get attention now all right - and the result it that they lose their rank position very quickly. There are many other ways now which the search engines use to judge how good a site is, one of which is its popularity. This is measured in several ways, but the most significant is how many other websites are linking to yours. The more links, the more popular, and this in turn implies more relevant and useful.

There are many free things available on the internet, and many good services that cost money. I rarely come across a good service that I’d recommend, which also happens to be free, but if you’re a website owner like me, and are interested in knowing how your site’s doing as far as the search engines are concerned,it’s great to find a free service that offers interesting and valyable information on how you’re website is ranked in the major search engines. As the work is done manually, the results are very thorough. Of course, they’ll offer to do the work for you, but if you’ve already built your site, the chances are that you’ll be quite happy making the changes they recommend. With so many companies out there, to get one who actually put their money ‘where their mouth is’ is a bonus.Actually and to be fair, they were really down to earth to deal with and explained it all in simple english.

It can often be quite obscure little changes that you wouldn’t think of - such as the position of the text on the page, the number of menu links and outside links you have, the length of your sentences and so on. Knowing what you can do to help get your website noticed is a massive step toward getting up towards that golden first page. I have a number of websites, and I can’t say I have always tried every single bit of advice, but even by applying a few which suit me, I have noticed that my sites are climbing higher. Don’t forget, no one ever gets overnight top rank placement, and your eventual position will depend largely on the number of keyword competitors you have, but I’d certainly recommend getting your site checked out, after all, it’s free!
