Help Me I Want To LOse Weight!
September 30th, 2008Has that tire round your middle started to get you down? Are you depressed by the sight of it in the mirror in the morning? What to do? Where to begin?
The first thing to do is to have a really good look at what you are doing wrong. Don’t try and kid yourself, if you’ve put on weight there is a reason - actually, probably several.
If you’re serious about losing weight it is going to take resolve on your part. Losing weight is not something that happens by magic, it has got to be worked at. Are you prepared t make the effort? If not then you will be wasting your time embarking on the project.
If you have a sweet tooth you are going to have to give up the candy bars and the sandwiches, the full fat cheese and all those delicious cakes. You have to make yourself aware of all the things you think have contributed to your weight gain and cut them out.
Have you any idea how many calories there are in the food that you eat every day. Is it a lot of a little? You may think it’s not much, but it may be much more than you think. Do you know how many calories you should take in every day? You need to be aware of these facts before you go any further or you are likely to make some fundamental mistakes.
What you must not do is to suddenly stop eating and reduce your calorie intake dramatically. If you do the long-term consequences will be that you put on weight - not take it off.
This might be an embarrassing question, but do you know how much exercise you take in a week? Be honest now! It’s not very much is it? Do you actually set out to take exercise every day? Is it something in your mind that you always do as a matter of routine?
What you need to understand is that exercise burns calories - it’s also good for you. It keeps you alert and healthy. If you’re serious about losing weight you should start to think about making an exercise plan. Exercise needs to become a habit - a slim habit, if you like. If you are prepared to change you have a better chance of being successful at losing weight. Change will come from learning new habits.
