December 2nd, 2008These days, the majority of people rent movies regularly. Often we will wait for the DVD rentals to hit the stores, as opposed to watching films at the movie theaters. Here is a short list of some of big winners in the DVD rental world.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: The Indiana Jones adventure continues, after a long break. This is the most recent movie of the exploits of the infamous Indiana Jones. In this, the latest adventure, Mr. Jones it’s the cold war, and the Russians are the enemy. Now, the chase is on for ancient relics called the Crystal Skulls, and the powers they might possess.
THE LAZARUS PROJECT: One time crook Ben Garvey seems to have gotten his act together. With a loving family, and a job that pays the bills, things are pretty darn good. Then, he gets fired from his job, and reverts to his old life of crime. The heist is a complete failure, and he winds up on death row. He expects the lethal injection to kill him. Incredibly, he now finds himself in a psychiatric ward. He now struggles for his sanity, and his spritual well being.
LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a respected boarder agent in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. Now, things in his past are about to rear it’s ugly head. He was a member of a viscious L.A. gang, before final breaking away. When a chance encounter exposes his whereabouts to his old gang, he and his family are put in a potentially deadly situation. For the sake of his family, he will take a huge risk, and make sure that gang leader drake is able to safely move illegal drugs into the U.S.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This film is about Military scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who has been changed into a creature called the green Hulk. This feature film is based on the marvel comic hero, the Incredible Hulk. Edward Norton is the top star in this film. The director is Louis Leterrier. The film genre is sci-fi/action.
DECEPTION: Audiitor for the elite, Jonathan McQuarry meets corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. This is a meeting that changes his life forever. He learns about “The List”, which offers a steamy sexual pleasures. But, he also finds himself in a scene full of deceipt, underhandidness and death.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a quest to find his lost brother, a science professor goes on a mission that leads him to the center of the earth. This is a new version of the original 1959 movie, which was about the classic novel by Jules Verne. Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutchinson, Anita Briem, and Seth Myers star in this adventure film.
THE HAPPENING: Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberb), with his wife, and Julian, with his daughter Jess are all fleeing Philadelphia on a train. Their city has been thrown into chaos. People have been overwhelmed by an unusual force, and are taking their own lives. Can we solve this dilemma, or is this the last stand of humans on Earth?
IRON MAN: Man of the town, arms builder, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is taken hostage by Afghan fighters. He is instructed to create weapon systems for the insurgent group. He was injured when he was abducted, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To save his life from this injury, and break away from his enemies, he develops a suit of armor, that give him incredible strength and defense. Iron Man is born.
SPEED RACER: An anime-cartoon with a new twist. As you saw with The Flinstones, Speed Racer chages a cartoon into a feature film with actors. Young Speed Racer who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a huge racing event that his older brother lost his live in. With odds against him, and everything at risk, he joins forces with his arch rival Racer X, to attempt to take the title, and rescue the family racing business.
